This policy explains what personal information Black Hangar Studios (“we”, “us”) collects when you use blackhangarstudios.com or contact us, why we use it and the choices you have. We are the controller of this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Black Hangar Studios, Lasham Airfield, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 5SR. Email: sales@blackhangarstudios.com. Phone: +44 (0) 125 638 4235.
Information we collect
- Enquiries: when you use the form on our Contact page we collect your first name, last name, email address and message. Only the email address is required.
- Emails and calls: if you email or phone us, we receive your contact details and anything you choose to tell us, for example about a production, booking or job.
- Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time) to keep the site secure and working.
We do not use the website to collect payment details, and we ask you not to send sensitive information (such as health details) through the contact form.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and to arrange studio hire, facilities, services or visits you ask about (steps taken at your request before a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to you).
- To manage bookings and agreements with clients and suppliers (performance of a contract).
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and misuse, and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making. We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
Your information is only shared where needed for the purposes above:
- Website hosting and email: our website and its emails are hosted by Hostinger, which processes data on our behalf.
- Professional advisers and authorities: such as accountants, insurers and legal advisers, or where the law requires it.
- Partners on your project: only where you ask us to involve them, for example a supplier for your production.
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
Cookies and embedded content
Our own pages do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you log in to the website administration area, WordPress sets cookies that are needed for that login to work.
Some pages show content from other services, which may set their own cookies and collect information about your visit when the content loads:
- Google Maps on the Contact page (Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy).
- CloudPano, which provides the 360° studio tour on the Videos and Virtual Tour pages and may use its own analytics and error-reporting tools.
- Social media: links to our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and YouTube pages take you to those services, where their own privacy policies apply.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may stop the map or the tour from working.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and related correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with them and any resulting booking or relationship, and then delete them. Records linked to contracts and invoices are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.
Keeping it secure
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries are stored in the website’s protected administration area and in our email, which only authorised staff can access.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
