Angus Cloud, the renowned actor celebrated for his role in HBO's captivating teen drama series, Euphoria, has passed away at the age of 25, as confirmed by his family on Monday. The demise occurred at his family residence in Oakland, California. No details regarding the cause of his passing have been disclosed.

In an official statement, Cloud's family expressed their profound sorrow, stating, "Today, with the heaviest of hearts, we bid farewell to an extraordinary soul." The statement revealed that Cloud had been grappling intensely with the loss of his father, which had taken place recently.

"As an artist, a companion, a sibling, and a son, Angus held a special place in our hearts in numerous ways... Our solace lies in the knowledge that Angus and his cherished father are now reunited, as his father was his closest confidant," the statement continued. It was noted that Angus had openly discussed his struggles with mental well-being, and his family aspired for his passing to serve as a reminder to others that seeking support and not enduring these battles silently is imperative.

Cloud's journey into acting began with an unexpected encounter. He was discovered by casting scout Eléonore Hendricks while strolling in New York. Cloud, initially cautious and suspecting a scam, later met with casting director Jennifer Venditti. Ultimately, series creator Sam Levinson recognized his potential, casting him as a co-star in Euphoria's first two seasons, alongside Zendaya.

HBO expressed deep sadness over Angus Cloud's passing, acknowledging his immense talent and his cherished role within the HBO and Euphoria family. The network extended its heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

In Euphoria, Cloud portrayed Fezco, a complex drug dealer guided by a moral compass. This portrayal was an integral part of the show's narrative, where he appeared alongside Zendaya.

Sam Levinson, the director of Euphoria, reminisced about Angus, describing him as unparalleled and underscoring his struggles with addiction and depression. Levinson hoped that Angus recognized the positive impact he had on countless lives.

Fellow Euphoria actress Kathrine Narducci, who portrayed Cloud's on-screen grandmother Marie O'Neill, characterized him as a gentle and beautiful soul who left the world too early.

Angus Cloud ascended to fame as one of the breakout stars of the Emmy-winning series in 2019. He graced both seasons of the drama alongside Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi.

The character Fezco O'Neill, nicknamed Fez, shared a profound connection with Zendaya's character, who navigates post-rehab life while still grappling with addiction. The show's acclaim was substantial, culminating in awards such as two Emmys and a Golden Globe for Zendaya. Notably, the second season was entirely shot on 35mm film.

Euphoria's narrative delves into the lives of California high school students, addressing themes of sexuality, substance abuse, and violence.

Fellow model and actress Gigi Hadid, who shared the screen with Cloud in a 2022 Christmas campaign for Ralph Lauren Fragrances, remembered him fondly. She described his gentle spirit and shared a clip from their campaign.

Canadian rapper Drake, serving as an executive producer on Euphoria, paid homage to Cloud on his Instagram story with a poignant image captioned "Good soul," accompanied by a sorrowful emoji and a white dove.

Euphoria, acclaimed for its two complete seasons in 2019 and 2022, along with special episodes in 2020 and 2021, is slated for a third season in 2025, according to IMDB.
